Coach Richard Pullen
Coach Pullen attended the State University of New York College at Brockport and received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Exercise Physiology in 1994. He received his Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in 2006. He has been teaching Driver Education at Smithfield High School since 2006.
Coach Pullen played basketball for S.U.N.Y. Brockport and went on to play semi-professional basketball before becoming a teacher. He is now the head coach of the Varsity Boy's Basketball team. In his spare time, Coach Pullen is active in his church, enjoys home renovation projects, exploring historical sites throughout the region and spending time with his family.

Coach Catherine Riddick
Coach Riddick attended Christopher Newport University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Leisure Studies, Physical Education and Recreation with a concentration in Fitness Management in 1997. She has been a teacher at Smithfield High School since 2002. Prior to coming to SHS, Coach Riddick worked at the Hampton YMCA as Aquatic Director.
Coach Riddick played softball for CNU from 1993 - 1996. During that time, the Lady Captains won the Dixie Conference Title three consecutive years and reached the NCAA Regional tournament. Coach Riddick became the first softball player at CNU to have her jersey (#14) retired. She was inducted into the CNU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002.
Coach Riddick has been coaching the Varsity Softball team since 2003. During that time, the Packers have won the Bay Rivers District Tournament title in 2003, 2004 and 2009. They were crowned the Region I champions in 2004. In 2012, the Packers were the Bay Rivers District Tournament Runner-Up. The 2013 Packers posted a record of 20 - 3 and won the regular season district championship , as well as the district tournament championship. The 2015 Packers claimed the regular season district championship for the Bay Rivers.
